A Friday ritual. A single photo capturing a moment. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

It’s just kind of strange. You just don’t see this every day. I get a lot of stray everything, but never a stray peacock. ~ Michelle Sherman

{This Moment} is a ritual found on Soule Mama which was introduced to me by Sarah-Jane of Samuel Michaels Photography. If you find yourself touched by a Moment and would like to participate, post your picture on a Friday and leave your link in the comments section.

May you be inspired – every day!

About Corinne Rodrigues

I write because I hope that my words will bring pleasure, inspire or make you question something, just as the words of so many writers do to me. I don't profess to have any answers, I just share from my own experiences and often bring you my own struggles with thoughts, ideas and situations. Today I seek to live life of that is simple, authentic and holistic. I write at Everyday Gyaan and share a blog called From 7Eight with my husband, José and our boxer dog, Pablo.

  1. Wondering what that antenna is all about! LOl

    • This guy visits the house opposite my parents’ and sits on the water tank. We heard the sound of another peacock only to find one on the water of my parents’ house! Unfortunately, we couldn’t get a pic of him.

Such a lovely creaure!! No one really expects to see a peacock hanging out but that’s exactly what we have in this case. Any clue where it came from and how long did it hang out? Nice moment!!

    • David – I answered your question in my response to Savira. But we suspect that the peacocks come from a graveyard at the back of the colony my parents live in. This place is overgrown and we’ve often heard partridge calling. In the last few months, the peacocks have come visiting the colony every morning. They seem to go from one water tank to another.

  3. I wonder if he could improve the tv reception! Certainly not something you would see everyday. Have a beautiful weekend. Jacinta

  13. That’s great! Reminds me of the farm where I used to ride horses as a girl. They had a collection of exotic birds, including peacocks. So we’d be out there with our horses, and there were peacocks and strange chickens wandering around among the ponies. Great photo!

  14. At the Pittsburgh zoo they let the peacocks have free range. They so fun to see…but I’ve never seen one in the wild!

  16. OMGosh!!! Would you believe I have a similar picture? We were on our way to a friend’s house when we saw a flock(?) of peacocks on a roof, in an ordinary neighborhood?!? It was insane! The picture I have, it shows 4 of them together. LOL!

    • Yes, Hyderabad, Rimly. A great sight to wake up to. Jose and I are fighting over who took the shot – we have four shots and since this one is the best, I’m claiming it ;)
