This is the season for this fruit. Am not really fond of this. Memories….I do have too.
Now I’m going to get a list of all the foods/fruits you do like, Janaki! I’m a fruit maniac – so I love them.

Mary, these are Indian jujube fruit – sour and sweet and a favorite of school children in India! You have a great weekend too.

We just ended eating a plateful of these Corinne!
I like them sprinkled with a little salt/pepper or chat masala, though it does get tiring to have them for long at times for those who don’t like it.
Nevertheless, it’s always nice to see them around when in season.
Nice to have you back as well.
Harleena Singh recently posted..Blog Anniversary – Making Merry this Christmas and New Year
We had them with salt and chilli powder, Harleena. I’m having them after years – the first time since I left college – and that was aeons ago. I know what you mean about them getting tiring with all those pits!

I’ve only seen dried cranberries, Martha. But I do think these do look similar. They are a treat I had after many years!

Jessica recently posted..This Moment: A Friday Tradition
These aren’t cranberries, Jessica. They’re Indian jujube berries. Now I’m wondering what a cranberry bog is.

Bongo recently posted..AVOIDANCE LOSES
I’m guessing they’re a little more sour than cranberries, Bonnie, but I’ve only eaten dried cranberries, so I may be wrong.

Roshni recently posted..Fate (Secret Subject Swap III)
Don’t you miss it, Roshni? I last had these in college – aeons ago! Do you think they’re like cranberries? You’d be the best one to answer that.
Corinne Rodrigues recently posted..Like A Sunflower
Hi Corinne, cranberries and ber are of the same family, I believe, but not quite the same. For instance, cranberries have the texture of apples whereas ber is softer. I haven’t tasted cranberries much, to tell you the truth. In the US, cranberries are generally made into a sauce with a ton of sugar, and I don’t like that at all!!
Roshni recently posted..Fate (Secret Subject Swap III)
Yes, berries – but I think that cranberries are more ‘meaty’ from the dried ones I’ve eaten.
Corinne Rodrigues recently posted..Friendship Redefined?
Was checking out from the comments if someone guessed what these are… I don’t know what cranberries are much less jujubes. When I googled it, it says it’s also called Chinese dates. I know how dates taste like. In my country, Wikipedia says it’s called little apples…I’ve yet to taste this but first, where to find it…
Thanks for sharing this BS.
melissa recently posted..Early Retreat: Laying Foundations
Yes, I saw that too, Melissa. You might get them in the Phillipines, but then you could always come and taste them here, no?

Beautiful picture and as a scrapbooker I am thinking of the ways that you could create a monthly roundup of all your single moment photos onto a scrapbooking layout!

Thanks, Beth. That would be a great idea. Like I mentioned on your blog, I’m totally new to scrapbooking. It’s something that hasn’t really caught on in India yet.

Those looks so yummy! I may have to go looking for some of those here in the US. Hummm… Thanks for sharing that beautiful photo! Makes my mouth water.
I’m wondering whether you’ll like them as much as we do. These are usually sold outside school and college campuses – kids in India love them. Me – I’m a very grown up kid!

This picture reminds me on another ritual I have in my life. During the summer I have a lot of currants in my garden and I freeze a lot of them for the winter. No I have every morning some currants from my garden in my muesli.
