A Diet Of Words

Today I’m linking in to Write Tribe’s 100 Words on Saturday prompt – choosing one of the writing quotes in the post and using that as a prompt.

Just write every day of your life. Read intensely. Then see what happens. Most of my friends who are put on that diet have very pleasant careers.

A Diet of Words

A diet of words
That’s what Ray Bradbury prescribes.
I’ve been trying it out for the last few weeks
And it works well
Reading intensely
Devouring the words
Enjoying the writing of others
And then I write
Letting my words flow
Stilling that inner critic
Not trying too hard
Not writing to impress
But writing from the heart.
I’ve realized how easy that can be
To  let the words that have been lingering
In the corners of your mind
See the light of day
To let the world know what I think
How I feel, what I believe in
