I can’t believe that I’ve been writing these ‘letters’ every month of this year and now we’re on December 2024. I’m planning to change up the month end reviews in 2025. Let’s see how that goes.
December 2024
Dear Self
You chose to be intentionally peaceful in December, and you did quite a good job of it.
December was certainly a much kinder month than November was. Making some wise and creative choices brought a lot more reflection, peace, and togetherness into your life.
Bringing small changes into your routine. Trying to have a better and more creative attitude toward problem solving. And attempting, with a lot of encouragement from José and inspiration from Sunita, to do what you’ve been putting off for a couple of years!
What’s more, you did almost everything you set out to do in December. That surely is a reason for you to be proud and happy with yourself!
Ending December and 2024 on a high is certainly a great way to enter 2025.
Keep being yourself!

A few things that made December a great month:
- Spending a tranquil and peaceful Christmas. I wrote about it on Substack.
- Taking part in the online memoir writing course by Ochre Sky Workshops was such an enriching experience. It allowed me to listen, learn, and express myself at a much deeper level than before. That took courage.
- Hannah Brencher’s Advent Reflections that José and I did together that prepared us for a peaceful Christmas. Taking time out every day to do this has, in my view, also helped deepen our relationship.
- Working on finding my word of the year – it kept changing until I found it! More about that in a post soon.
- Writing in company with our Wednesday Writing group and in the last few days plunging into Beth Kempton’s Winter Writing Sanctuary. I’ve been putting out my posts for this on Substack.
- Reflecting on this year through deep journaling – will share my reflections soon.
Here’s a picture I took at the park we started going to this month. Sadly, they closed it for repairs about 10 days after we began going. I took a lot more pictures, but this one with the little red seemed Christmassy!

I hope your December has been a good one too! ♥
