Dear Self October 2024
Intentional in 2024 - Word of the Year

Dear Self – October 2024

The theme I chose for October 2024 was ‘Intentionally Open’. Today’s post is reflections from the month – my experiences and the lessons I learned.

October 2024

Dear Self

You quite outdid yourself this month in so many ways. But then, in other ways, things didn’t go according to plan. Setbacks. Health issues. Stepping into a caregiver role for a brief time. All these things held you back. But if you look at them from the perspective of being open, then not going according to plan was a good thing, right?

You had a great brief vacation during which you were open to exploring the area, meeting new people and trying out new food and drinks. There’s nothing like travel to teach us openness, is there? (photographs below)

You did a fair amount of reflection during your vacation and after and have had some fresh perspective on your work and plans. Looking back on the past and reflecting on the life you are building. You tried harder to be more open and vulnerable in your posts during the month.

You also made yourself vulnerable by having deep conversations and asking for what you need. That’s openness in action!

Trying To Have A Good Attitude In The Midst of Small Challenges

During the month, you tried to stay open and grateful. But there were times you gave in to tiredness, grumbling and despair. This is where sticking to your journaling routine might have helped, but you didn’t seem to have the energy for any of your daily routines.

What kept you going is the couple of times you took part in the ‘Wednesday Writing’ initiative. Writing in the company of people you’ve known for years and others you haven’t helped you a lot. For this, gratitude to Sunita Saldhana who started this initiative with me and the others who join us.

You seem to be on the cusp of a season of change, and it’s best that you continue to stay open to your inner voice and all that the Universe is telling you through what you are experiencing right now.

I’m looking forward to November with you, my dear self!

  1. Beautiful photos, Corinne. Although I’ e been to Cochi multiple times for travel and other purposes, I’ve never “seen” or “experienced” Cochi in its truest sense. Love the photo of the window.
It’s such a lovely experience to write in the company of likeminded people, Corinne. ♥️

    1. We’ve both been to Kochi separately and then passed through en route to other places. We decided to just stay in Fort Kochi area and explore. Enjoyed the history of the place!
I’m so happy to ‘meet’ you every week and write with you, Vini. ♥
