Grateful Glimpses: Reflecting On 2024

As the year draws to a close, I’m reflecting on 2024 and everything that shaped my year. It has been a year filled with challenges and triumphs, a year that demanded courage and resilience but also offered abundant grace. In retrospect, I’m incredibly thankful for this year’s significant and simple moments.

I’ve been documenting the year through my Word of The Year themes and my Dear Self Letters at the end of each month, which have been quite detailed. But I thought it was important to put out a year end reflection.

Reflecting On 2024

Grace got me through this year. It was my support through tough times and my encouragement during good times.

Courage and resilience have also been the cornerstones of 2024. Life threw some curveballs, and we had to bravely face the unknown. Courage was my guide, whether I was making tough choices or growing as a person. I learned to trust myself, believe, and keep going, even when things were unclear.

Quiet growth and maturity have also been key aspects of this year. Through quiet reflection and navigating life’s challenges, I’ve experienced a deep, internal growth that’s not always visible, but is deeply felt. This quiet growth has brought clarity, wisdom, and a deeper understanding of myself and the world around me. It’s the growth that comes from small, deliberate steps forward.

I am profoundly grateful for the people who have walked this journey with me. Friendship and companionship have been sources of light and joy. The concern and support of friends and neighbours has meant a lot. Whether through laughter shared over a meal, conversations that stretched late into the night, or the quiet comfort of simply being together, my relationship with my husband has grown too.

Travel has added its own kind of magic to 2024. The holidays were peaceful; we relaxed, explored, and sampled new cuisines.

And then there’s Lucky, whose unwavering presence has been a source of comfort and joy. There have been times when she’s driven me insane with her fears and reluctance to trust. But that’s what comes with having a rescue dog. Seeing her wagging tail and playfulness makes me appreciate the present moment.

The dominant feeling of 2024, despite all else, has been gratitude. I’m thankful for the grace, courage, resilience, quiet growth, and love that saw me through. With these gifts, I face the new year with hope and anticipation.

I hope 2024 was a good year for you. I’d love to hear how it went for you.

Thank you for your support, comments and sharing all year through!

  1. Wow. That hits to the core, Corinne. It sounds like you were very present in 2024 and I’m in awe. Being more present is one of my goals that I’ve yet to attain but I try. 2024 was good for me and my family and for that I am thankful. I am expecting an amazing year for all of us, you included. 🙂 Whatever 2025 brings, we’ve got this, right? Happy New Year, friend!

    1. I tried, Mimi. It’s easy to lose oneself in all that’s on offer on social media and otherwise. I’m trying to be even more focused this year, while having fun.
I’m so glad that 2024 was good for you. And yes 2025 will be amazing, and if not we’ve got a Source to go too.
Happy New Year and much love!

  2. With the exception of not having a Lucky, I really resonate with your reflections too! (It’s been a fun years since we’ve had a dog, ha.) I’m grateful for those who have walked another year with me and are stepping into 2025 together. There will be so many surprises in 2025 – and hopefully most of them will be good. 🙂

    1. I wish you a wonderful 2025, Lisa. May it bring peace, healing and lots of love. Hugs.

Dogs are fun but so much work and it gets harder as we get older – always a tradeoff, no? But usually the dogs win! 😉

  3. Having been with you through this year, I have been amazed at how aware you have been throughout. I have loved the way you documented each year through your Dear Self letters. It has inspired me to do something similar this year, so that the memories of the year remain long after the year has gone. Have a great 2025, or rather make it a great 2025!

  4. I truly enjoyed the monthly themes and reflections you shared last year, Corinne. They were absolutely motivating and inspiring.
    Wish you an amazing 2025!

  5. Wow! Loved how you documented your year through your reflections and your letters, Corinne!
It’s nice to be present and observe how we show up in the world…and being aware open us up to so many new experiences that one is otherwise oblivious to. I would like to do that in 2025! Nice to know that 2024 was good. I wish and pray that 2025 is even better for you and for all of us and it opens us to many more enlightening moments.
Stay inspired and keep inspiring the rest of us as you always do, Corinne!

Much love and hugs for a productive and fulfilling year ahead
