Today, as I promised in my last post, I’m sharing my every day rituals for 2025.
Why Rituals?
Rituals are an essential part of my daily life because they bring structure and stability. They help me organize my time, make my days more predictable, and make sure that I focus on what’s important to me.
Rituals also offer emotional comfort. Their repetitive nature has a calming effect, helping me manage anxiety and making transitions between different parts of my day smoother. For instance, moving from writing my Morning Pages to starting the chores for the morning seems more intentional and smooth.
These rituals add meaning to my daily activities by encouraging mindfulness and keeping me grounded in the present moment. Simple practices, like a few minutes of reflection before bed, make even ordinary moments feel more significant.
They also help me stay motivated and focused. Rituals reinforce my goals. Overall, they provide a sense of purpose and balance, making my days feel more centered and fulfilling.
This video sums up why we need rituals :
My Every Day Rituals For 2025
Ritual is the act of sanctifying action – even ordinary action – so that it has meaning. I can light a candle because I need the light or because the candle represents the light I need.” — Christina Baldwin
Here are the 12 rituals I’m choosing to focus on in 2025:
- Write Morning Pages first thing after waking up.
- Write down and read aloud my affirmation for the day. (I use the lovely affirmations from Morgan Harper Nichols’ app The Storyteller).
- Journal – again, for now, I’m using The Storyteller app, but I write by hand in a notebook.
- Blogging related tasks – reading, writing, commenting sharing.
- Writing – a small piece of writing – prompt based or otherwise – trying out different forms of writing.
- Reading – getting my daily quota of fiction and non-fiction.
- Walking – read more about this here.
- Scripture reflections.
- Gratitude – at the end of the day, I journal three things I’m grateful for.
- Setting intentions – at the end of the day, I write three intentions for the next day – not what I want to do the next day, but how I want to feel or the quality of what I’m doing. For example, when I was to meet some friends the next day, I set an intention for us to have meaningful conversations (and we did!).
- Making small learning notes of things I’ve read, podcasts I’ve listened to or anything else that strikes me during the day.
- Leisure – taking photographs, decorating my journal, listening to music, watching a movie.

I’m trying to be disciplined, but sometimes life gets in the way. For example, last week, I had the ‘flu and couldn’t get up early enough to write my Morning Pages. I tried to do them later in the day, but that didn’t work every day. I’m getting better at finding balance between being disciplined and not find weak excuses for not following through and giving myself grace and not beating myself up.
Do feel to ask me questions about any part of what I’ve shared? I’d be happy to chat/ expand on a particular ritual.

Routines are extremely important for me. They ground me and pull me back from chaos and anxiety. I have posted a copy of my rituals and routines in every room of my house. That way, whenever I lose my way, I just have to look at it and do the next thing that is on the list.
Nice idea to have them around as reminders. These are the things that ground us, right?
I hope you’ve recovered from the flu, Corinne! I love rituals myself, so I appreciate reading this list. It makes me want to start my own list. Hmm….
I have, thank you. But have some other health challenges happening right now.
Look forward to reading your list of rituals, if you decide to share.
I love my everyday rituals. Like you, I also start my day by writing my morning pages. I thought of changing it up with yoga, but it felt wrong. Morning pages is my grounding centering start to the day.
It’s so nice to read about your rituals, Corinne.
Sometime last year, I gave it up, Vini, but this I’m drawn back to doing it and find such a good way to start the day.
These are interesting rituals, Corinne. And such a great way to ensure you are making time for the things that are important to you!
Thank you, MG.
I like your daily routine. Hope you are feeling better now.
Thank you, Balaka.
