February 2025 In Four Words: Stronger Than Anxiety

In February 2025, I realized I can dig deep into my inner resources, uncover resilience, and rise above anxiety. I felt overwhelmed, but I found the inner strength to push through my fears and show anxiety who’s boss. I discovered I can be stronger than anxiety.

Stronger Than Anxiety

At the start of this, I had made getting healthy one of my priorities. Who knew that the Universe would decide to fast forward that? At the end of January, I suddenly started feeling really giddy and soon realized that my sugars were through the roof. So off I went for a long overdue health check up. Getting the right medication for my sugar levels helped, but I was told that I had a stone in my gall bladder that need to be removed surgically. This led to anxiety. Not about the surgery, as much as the pressure it would put on José during my hospitalisation and subsequent recovery.

It was just a hunch and something that happened which led to me to think that the hospital I had gone to for the health checkup was unnecessarily pushing for a surgery. Trusting my intuition, we got a second opinion that proved it wasn’t necessary.

Until my sugar levels went back to normal and I got a second opinion, that surgery wasn’t necessary, I was anxious and unable to concentrate on things. I woke up tired and disinterested. But I picked myself up towards the last week of the month and focus on my rituals.

I have also started focusing on making healthy choices – basically cutting out unhealthy snacking and walking as often as possible. Thankfully, I’m feeling much better physically and emotionally. I’m grateful for the wake up call that has led to me making healthier choices!

  1. I had not been consistent in my writing, yoga etc. in February. Now, after reading what you shared about your ‘anxiety’ and ‘intuition’ I too feel motivated to make right choices, Corinne! I’m going to add physical exercise to my daily routine.

  2. I’m so glad you’re better now, Corinne! It’s always wise to get second opinions for things like surgeries; many doctors/hospitals tend to push for it even though it isn’t always necessary!

  3. Three years ago my mom was told that she has a stone in her gall bladder that needs to be removed surgically. But she didn’t, as she was worried about surgery, and six months later it turned out that the stone shrank in size a great deal, so no surgery was needed. If it is not life-threatening, some simple lifestyle changes would bring positive changes. I am glad that you are feeling better, Corinne. Always trust your intuition, that’s the right thing to do.
