Living My Dream #FridayReflections

I have the most vivid dreams and what’s more I tend to remember them for at least 2 – 3 hours after I wake up. My husband finds them very entertaining and urges me to write them down. I haven’t really tried that yet. One of my recent dreams involved me running a book store and this brought to mind this post I had written a very long while ago. I’m republishing it today.

I am living my dream.

For as long as I can remember, my dream consisted of Words.
Collecting them.
Reading them.
Writing them.
Speaking them.
And why, yes, even selling them.
I dreamt of owning my own book store.
I dreamt of having countless books to read.
I dreamt of speaking before large audiences.
I dreamt of writing and publishing my words.
I don’t own the book store.
But all the other dreams around Words have come true.
Words have come to be a part of my reality today.

I am living my dream.

  1. Acknowledging that as a dream took a long time for me…it didn’t fit into what I had been taught went in the dream box. Outside the lines. But I love it. And I agree with Linda…always more fun with friends!

  2. I love that you are living your dream!!
I am living my dream as well…not all of it has come true–but enough of it to really love life.
Awesome post–will be responding shortly 🙂

Thank you for being our Host for Today!! Cheers, Jenn.

  3. Well written Corinne!

You sure have a hidden poet under you it seems, and of course the writer who is busy weaving awesome posts every single day! 🙂

I wish we all could really live our dreams and enjoy doing what we are doing. That I feel is the most important – isn’t it? To enjoy what you do and do it to the best of your ability. That’s what I believe in.

Thanks for sharing, and hope you live your dream right through. 🙂

  4. Loved the whole approach you took for today’s prompt and you really got me thinking again about my dream.
As Harleena said above, your poetic skills shine through this post. Well done!
    Stuart

  5. Corinne I got goosebumps as I read this… it is so beautiful and touching!

Touchwood!!! I can understand how it feels to be living your dream and I sure very soon your dream of owning a book store will also come true soon 🙂

  6. What a happy place we have found when we are living our dream! With you, Corinne, I share deeply the love for books and for the written word. Can’t get enough of both! 🙂
    Beautiful post, my friend!
    Blessings!

  7. Oh, I wish you WOULd open that book store. I’m a real believer that as ebooks take off, independent bookstores are actually going to make a comeback as there are still those like me who prefer a real page to turn.

  8. This is wonderful! It’s not every day one has their dream come true. Keep on dreaming about that bookstore.

  9. I think anyone can make their dreams come true, realistic dreams, as long as they work hard to achieve them. :o)

  10. I looooooooooove that you are living your dream, Corrine.

That your dream consists of WORDS….
    Collecting them.
    Reading them.
    Writing them.
    Speaking them.

This is my dream, too. Xx

btw, I’ve had a name for my coffee shop for many yearts: “”” Lit & Latte!!”””

  11. Who knows Corinne, even the bookstore may still materialize. So glad words have been a blessing for you. And with them ylou bless others.

  12. Congratulations on pursuing your dream..:) happy for you. You wanted to have your own book store, I always wanted to have my library at home…:)

  13. What lovely writing! I am so grateful to read you this morning, a grand addition to the #BlogFest2012 experience. I am glad to read you and write to you today. Happy October!

  15. Yay you!! May all your dreams continue to come true and may you ever be dreaming of new ones!! Love this topic. Thanks for hosting!

  16. Oh gosh, Corinne. I have so many dreams. I’m certain I’m living one or two of them. Occasionally, I find I’m living a nightmare, too! LOL! Nice, succinct job sharing your thoughts, Corrine. I look forward to taking on this topic. Hopefully it’ll be a cream to write. 🙂

  17. Yoink! That last sentence should say, “Hopefully it’ll be a DREAM to write.” Amazing how one letter can change the entire meaning of what you’re trying to say, eh? Cheers!

  18. And you are doing a fab job if I may add! Loved this post and the prompt…………….thank you….and much love!

  19. I love my current life, but it’s not my dream (I have a lot to go in life, I guess that’s how it is, especially since I am just starting with my life).

I am thankful to God for my current life (but I am not very happy about it, since I know that there are lot of people out there who can’t afford basic necessities such as food or shelter and I know I can do a lot to change those situation – to help people. That’s my dream :D).

Thanks for the inspirational and thoughtful post, Corinne 🙂

  20. Great topic Corinne and glad that you are living your dream. Loved your post and how you brought the words together.

  21. Not all of us can say that we are living our dreams. But if you are, good job! Congrats!
    Have a great weekend!

  22. I may not be living my dream but I’m living a dream life. And I have very very vivid dreams and my family and friends make fun of me when I start the conversation with ” You know what I dreamt last night?” so I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one dreaming and talking about dreams.
Yes, my dreams are vivid too and I also remember them for a bit. But once I describe it I completely forget….

  23. Wow…how wonderful to have such a dream, and your dream is also one most of us here can relate to. Great going! 😀

  24. Corinne, Maybe your dream is telling you something! Of course, with your blog, you’re also a collector and provider of wonderful thought — which is the same as a book store! Still, you never know…
