I used to think that by only loving halfway or pursuing my dreams with caution, I could avoid pain. But what I’ve realized is that holding back divides me from myself. It stops me from fully enjoying the richness of love and hinders me from pursuing my dreams.
No Longer Divided Against Myself
It’s common to hold back, thinking that if we only give part of ourselves to love or our dreams, we’ll avoid getting hurt. But the truth is, holding back doesn’t protect us—it actually keeps us from experiencing the fullness of life. I know that I’ve been holding back and that has caused problems. Now I’m ready to take the plunge. To go all in. I’m not longer divided against myself.
Imagine painting a picture but being afraid to put bold strokes on the canvas. The masterpiece doesn’t come from playing it safe—it comes from committing fully to the vision. Our dreams work the same way. They need our wholehearted dedication and a clear picture in our minds to become real.
It’s time to challenge the idea that holding back keeps us safe. Instead, let’s embrace being vulnerable in love and having the courage to go all-in on our dreams. By doing this, we not only honor ourselves but also give our dreams the best chance to come true.
One of the lies we tell ourselves is that if we don not let ourselves love completely, then we will be less hurt. Loving in a halfhearted manner, pursuing our dreams in a halfheartmanner, we are divided against ourselves. We do ourselves the indignity of not taking ourselves seriously, and we do our creative projects the serious injustice of refusing to visualise them with clarity. Because clarity of vision is a trigger to manifestation, our self-protective desire to hedge our bets can result in our projects not coming to fruition.

Loving completely means living authentically, and going after our dreams with everything we’ve got invites the universe to support us. Let’s ditch the idea that holding back keeps us safe and choose to live wholeheartedly. When we do, we unlock the true power of our hearts and make our dreams a reality.
