Healing With An Abundance Mindset
My 66-day Journey of Healing Through Writing and Sharing - Heal In 2023 - Healing - Word of the Year

Healing With An Abundance Mindset In October

To me, an abundance mindset is a mental attitude that focuses on the potential for growth, positivity, and unlimited opportunities. It’s about shifting my perspective from scarcity and limitation to one of plenty and possibility. This mindset isn’t confined to material wealth; it extends to emotional wealth as well.

As I’ve been sharing, emotional healing has been a deeply personal journey for me, one that required confronting past wounds, navigating present challenges, and preparing for an emotionally healthier future. Through my experiences, I’ve come to realize the invaluable tool that has made this journey fruitful – cultivating an abundance mindset.

Healing With An Abundance Mindset In October

My Word of The Year theme for October was ‘healing with abundance‘. When I started to apply an abundance mindset to my emotional healing process, I began to see real change.

Even the smallest shift in perspective can bring about the greatest healing.

Gratitude and Acceptance

One of the key elements of an abundance mindset is gratitude. I’ve found that when I approach my emotional healing journey with gratitude, I can acknowledge and appreciate the positive aspects of my life, no matter how small they may seem. This sense of appreciation has been a powerful tool for my emotional healing because it shifts my focus away from pain and suffering.

For instance, after experiencing a painful severing of familial ties, I chose to focus on the love and support I received from my husband. This shift in focus helped me heal by recognizing the abundance of love and care in my life, even in the face of loss.

Letting Go of Scarcity and Embracing An Abundance Mindset

Abundance is the process of letting go; that which is empty can receive.”

Bryant H. McGill

A scarcity mindset can hinder emotional healing. When I constantly dwell on my emotional wounds and past traumas, I found it easy to feel trapped in a cycle of negativity. The abundance mindset has helped me break free from this cycle by recognizing that my emotional well-being isn’t limited to my past experiences. Instead, it’s a constantly evolving and expanding journey.

Positive Self-Talk

The abundance mindset has also encouraged positive self-talk in my life. Instead of dwelling on self-criticism and self-doubt, I’ve been able to focus on my strengths, resilience, and capacity for growth. By practicing self-compassion and acknowledging my own worth, I’ve found that the emotional healing process becomes more forgiving and nurturing.

The Role of Abundance in Relationships

Emotional healing often involves mending relationships with others. When I approach these relationships with an abundance mindset, I find it easier to forgive, empathize, and let go of grudges.

Embracing Change

The abundance mindset has taught me to embrace change as a natural part of life. This is especially crucial in emotional healing, as it often involves shedding old patterns and embracing new ones. By welcoming change with open arms, I’ve become more adaptable and resilient in the face of life’s challenges.
