Recently, I shared a love letter to myself. This is a letter to my younger self – my 30 year old self. In it, I’ve focused on my recent journey in building emotional resilience – things I wish I knew then.
To My 30 Year Old Self
Hey there,
There are so many things I wish you would know about life and living. If you knew then what I know now, perhaps you could have avoided much pain and heartache. But I console myself that it’s never too late to learn.
I’ve been on a journey lately—a journey to build emotional resilience. Life’s unpredictable twists and turns have thrown their fair share of challenges my way, and I’ve come to realize that how I navigate these challenges is crucial to my overall well-being.
Self-awareness has been my starting point. I’ve taken the time to reflect on my emotions, noticing patterns in my reactions. It’s about acknowledging both my strengths and weaknesses without passing judgment. This self-awareness has become the compass guiding me through some stormy times.
Gratitude has been my North Star. Shifting my focus from problems to solutions and practicing gratitude has reshaped my outlook. There’s power in the way we perceive the world, and I’ve learned that cultivating gratitude is a continuous, intentional effort.
Mindfulness and stress management have become daily rituals. Whether it’s through meditation or a few deep breaths, I’ve found solace in the present moment. Managing stress isn’t just about avoiding it but navigating through it with grace and resilience.
The importance of social support cannot be overstated. Opening up about my feelings has been liberating, reminding me that I don’t have to face life’s challenges alone.
Adaptability has become my mantra. Life is in constant flux, and learning to embrace change has been transformative. Challenges are no longer roadblocks but opportunities for growth and self-discovery. I’ve learned to flow!
Setting realistic goals has been a game-changer. Breaking down larger objectives into manageable steps has made the journey less overwhelming. Celebrating small victories along the way has created a sense of accomplishment that fuels my resilience.
Learning from setbacks has been my final lesson. Instead of dwelling on failures, I’ve dissected them for lessons. Every stumble is a stepping stone, a chance to rise stronger and more resilient than before.
So here I am, embracing resilience as a way of life. It’s not a destination but a continuous journey—one I’m navigating with newfound strength, gratitude, and an unwavering belief in Grace that sees me through.
I want you to be at peace knowing that I’m so much stronger now!

Once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive…But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.
