    In recent months, I’ve had opportunities to attend funerals, read death notices, and listen to many eulogies. Eulogies were absent from Indian Catholic funerals for most of my life. I can remember them only in the last 20 years. And I’ve seen them drag on, with more people talking and just so many words. My mother was not a fan of eulogies.     There was a time that I tried to give up something for Lent and when I wasn’t able to sustain these resolutions (much like New Year resolutions), it resulted in guilt. I’ve learnt in the last few years to ‘add’ instead of ‘subtract’ for Lent. I’ve started adding on some meaningful practices instead of giving up something.
