What Surprises You?

What Surprises You?

When asked what surprises him, the Dalai Lama is supposed to have said: “Man, because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then he dies having never really lived.”

With due respect to the Dalai Lama, what he supposedly said was not a surprise. I think that would be my response to another question: ‘What saddens you?”

However, I began to wonder about what surprises me? I’m thinking about it and should have a post with my answer ready soon.

“One of the most beneficial and valuable gifts we can give to ourselves in this life: is allowing ourselves to be surprised! It is okay if life surprises you. Its a good thing!”
― C. JoyBell C.

“Life is so full of unpredictable beauty and strange surprises. Sometimes that beauty is too much for me to handle. Do you know that feeling? When something is just too beautiful? When someone says something or writes something or plays something that moves you to the point of tears, maybe even changes you.”
― Mark Oliver Everett

    1.  @jovane Nope definitely not a dolt. I couldn’t see the big flashing neon pink contact button neither. Hey, that’s an idea… big and flashy. 🙂

  1.  @CorinneRodrigues Done. But, here is something that doesn’t surprise me… when I go to comment on a post and can’t recall which log-in I used and I end up having more than one account. lol I suppose I will make it easier on myself and just always use FB.

Love the idea and I look forward to the next post. xoxo
