It’s Cool To Be Kind

Yesterday was World Kindness Day and I came across this lovely little image on Twitter. The phrase ‘It’s cool to be kind’ really resonated with me.

It’s Cool To Be Kind

Kindness is one of the 5 principles I’m trying to base my life on. There have been times that I’ve been so caught up in myself, that I’ve not really reached out to others. But I remind myself that kindness is not exactly the same as charity. No. Kindness is more than giving out of plenty. It’s an attitude. A daily choice. A lifestyle even.

“Scientific evidence has proven that kindness changes the brain, impacts the heart and immune system, and may even be an antidote to depression. We’re actually genetically wired to be kind.”

Dr David Hamilton , ‘Why Kindness is Good for You’

Although kindness is something within, I think of it as a daily choice. Kindness of a cloak to put on as you head out to face the world every day. Or a t-shirt that proclaims what you represent! To be kind is truly cool!

  1. I agree . Kindness is a life choice. This has been brought home so much since covid. I realised that I can’t do much to help people but I can choose to be kind. Gentle instead of harsh. A little nudge, a hug, a smile. A thank you to those that remain largely unseen : the watchman, sweeper, gardener…

  2. Kindness is an attitude and a lifestyle choice, Corinne! And it is a fruit of the Spirit of God. May we choose to be kind both for His sake and other’s sake.

    1. Kindness is so beautiful. I appreciate you writing about it. Thanks for that. Being kind isn’t always easy, isn’t it? I pray that I may kind in a healthy way. Even the simplest act of heartfelt kindness may be the one act that begins to soften someone’s hard heart.

Have a nice week, dear friend. I hope all is well with you.
