I often wonder why we find it so hard to be our authentic selves. One would think it’s the most natural thing in the world. But over the years, we’ve all learnt to be other than ourselves with different people. We try to live up to what we think is other people’s image of us. In the process we lose ourselves. A great loss to ourselves and to the world…………..
Another resolution for 2011 for me: To be ME. To be authentic and real.
Be your authentic self. Your authentic self is who you are when you have no fear of judgment, or before the world starts pushing you around and telling you who you’re supposed to be. Your fictional self is who you are when you have a social mask on to please everyone else. Give yourself permission to be your authentic self. ~ Dr. Phil
