She gazed out of the window
Watching the traffic speed by
A middle-aged woman
With no ‘job’, yet doing the work she loved.
Not living in the house of her dreams
But certainly at home in love.
Not having conquered the world
But having overcome her own demons.
Not surrounded by fawning fans
But by significant others,
Who saw the real woman within
And loved her for who she was.
With no children of her own,
Yet nurturing many.
She smiled
Content at where she was
And who she had become.
“Life”, she thought,
“That’s my greatest hit!”

Beautifully put, Corinne! The woman has succeeded where most others fail, in life!
Thanks a lot, Rachna. Getting to be at peace with yourself is where we all should aim to be.
Oh, yes! Being happy with life just as it is. Beautifully expressed, Corinne!
Thanks, Martha. I’m thinking we all need to be so, don’t we?
That is wonderful Corinne, thanks 🙂
Thanks so much, Cairn. Glad you liked it.
Corinne, this poem is splendid. It reflects so much contentment and such appreciation for the simple act of loving and being loved…being alive. Is this not what we all aim for. Well done soul-sister <3
Thank you so much, Leah. Appreciation for life and love are so vital to be content.
Wonderful poem Corinne…it shows that you are content and happy. I am hoping to reach this stage some day 🙂
Thanks for seeing through what I meant, LP. I can see you getting there soon.
Truly wonderful Corinne. I am amazed at how you have put it.
This was lovely Corinne!
Corinne, this was a home run for me. Beautiful!
What an absolutely lovely poem. If we could all be so contented in life.
Beautifully expressed, Corinne. And the last two lines say it all. Life indeed should be our greatest hit. This would make a great song.
Hi, Corinne! ~
This seems like a poem about YOU, except you’re not middle-aged yet and I don’t know if you live in the house of your dreams — it looks quite magnificent from the pictures I’ve seen!
I often say that the life I’m creating is my greatest work of art, which is in a similar vein 😉
Corinne, you are a hit!
Love it! Success at life is so much more important than any other.
Beautiful words, Corinne! Felt comforted as though an angel herself spoke them.
that was so lovely……
And to reach the space of inner peace is like seeing heaven when alive…..
Simple and beautiful, Corinne. She is the woman of victory. A purely contended soul..:)
This is indeed so inspiring 🙂
Excellently penned!
Loved it….. 🙂
I have lived my life ~ that’s how I’d like to think of myself a few years from now 🙂
I truly love this Corinne!
