Life and Inspiration

{This Moment} – 18 May 2012

A Friday ritual. A single photo capturing a moment. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

It’s just kind of strange. You just don’t see this every day. I get a lot of stray everything, but never a stray peacock. ~ Michelle Sherman

{This Moment} is a ritual found on Soule Mama which was introduced to me by Sarah-Jane of Samuel Michaels Photography. If you find yourself touched by a Moment and would like to participate, post your picture on a Friday and leave your link in the comments section.

May you be inspired – every day!

    1. This guy visits the house opposite my parents’ and sits on the water tank. We heard the sound of another peacock only to find one on the water of my parents’ house! Unfortunately, we couldn’t get a pic of him.

    1. David – I answered your question in my response to Savira. But we suspect that the peacocks come from a graveyard at the back of the colony my parents live in. This place is overgrown and we’ve often heard partridge calling. In the last few months, the peacocks have come visiting the colony every morning. They seem to go from one water tank to another.

  1. Beautiful picture……such moments really make you pause and appreciate the beauty God has created around us!

Thanks for sharing this lovely pic and giving us a chance to do that too 🙂

  2. Is this in Hyderabad? We used to see a lot of them in Ahmedabad. :-)Elegant.

  3. That’s great! Reminds me of the farm where I used to ride horses as a girl. They had a collection of exotic birds, including peacocks. So we’d be out there with our horses, and there were peacocks and strange chickens wandering around among the ponies. Great photo!

      1. Ha! Well, they looked very exotic to me! Beautiful feathers of many colors, topnots on their heads, feathers on their feet. Oh yes, and there were pheasants and other exotic birds, too.

  4. Wonderful shot, have a friend who has peacocks all around their place, one thing besides beauty is their volume…lol Perfect moment.

  5. A stray peacock?!?! Now, this is really strange. Where do you think s/he has strayed from? Lovely shot, Corinne and glad to see a moment here after a long time.

    Joy always,
    Susan

  6. Where is this Corinne? Hyderabad? I have seen peacocks in Delhi but this. They are so beautiful aren’t they? Every time I see one I am mesmerized by them and imagine to see one frequenting your house…Lovely shot. Did you take it?

    1. Yes, Hyderabad, Rimly. A great sight to wake up to. Jose and I are fighting over who took the shot – we have four shots and since this one is the best, I’m claiming it 😉

  7. Wow, that is odd! A moment you wouldn’t want to miss! And nice composition as well. Thank goodness for life’s surprising moments.

  8. Surprising corinne, never heard of peacock at your place, lovely and a rare sight!
